Pastor's Challenge

God has given us everything we need to know about Him through His word and through creation, brought about through His own power...

2 Peter 1:3 "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness."

As the people of God, we must partake of the many ways He has provided for us to know Him. This means regularly spending time getting to know Him through the Word, through prayer, through fellowship with other believers, and through unceasing communion with Him wherever we are. As we look to the beauty of creation and the changing seasons, we can be assured of His hand in the world and also His hand in our lives. Just as the winter brings death and drabness, so spring brings new life and new growth. We also see this principle in the spiritual realm. As we die to our old ways and our habits that are not pleasing to God, He brings new growth in areas that make us more like He always intended for us to be. Through His constant work in our life, we are becoming more like Christ.

As we meet together in the body of Christ, we examine the scriptures and sharpen one another, allowing more of the dead to be chiseled away and more of the new growth in Christ to take place. Spring in our lives means death to sin and new life in Christ! He is constantly at work in us to bring about the image of Christ in us.

Romans 8:28-30 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified."
