Pastor's Challenge

In thinking about our Purpose and Mission, we have been focused on learning how we become a disciple-making church...

As we have been studying the book of Acts and what being a disciple truly means, we have been challenged by these questions found in Glenn McDonald's book The Disciple Making Church: From Dry Bones to Spiritual Vitality:

1. Who is my Lord? (To whom or to what do I surrender daily? To whom or to what do I give my devotion and attention?)

2. Who am I? (What does God's Word say about who I am? Who has God uniquely created and gifted me to be?)

3. Who is my Barnabas? (Who has God used in my life to be an encourager and discipler? Who do I need to thank for being a steady example of godly leadership and influence in my life?)

4. Who is my Timothy? (Who am I discipling and encouraging? Who am I pouring my life into for the sake of the gospel?)

5. Where is my Antioch? (Where do I receive sound teaching and sharpening in discipleshiop? Where am I being equipped for ministry?)

6. Where is my Macedonia? (Where is my mission field? Where am I being used for the sake of expanding the kingdom?)

As we consider all the above questions, we desire to be a people characterized by prayer. Want to seek the Lord and allow Him to form our answers to these questions and the resulting actions. We are thankful for the Word and for the ways it is shaping our thinking and shaping our lives. To God be the glory!
